Day 310 – Beautiful Grasses

The warm glow of evening light really makes the grasses and foliage come alive with color.

I was extra motivated to get out this evening and enjoy the last hour of light with a nice walk on the trails with my pooch Bailey, since it will be a little more difficult to do that with the end of daylight savings time. By the time work is over, it will be dark.

I love the red grass in the picture; it’s called Purple Fountain Grass. We had it in the landscaping of our first house. It’s a hardy plant that grows fast and always looks good. The violet stuff is Salvia, which I recently learned is an attractant for hummingbirds and butterflies.

i love this one too! i love to capture nature at its finest 🙂 i planted six plants of that same fountain grass up north and not one plant survived the winter… must be too cold up there for it 😦

Yeah, we’re lucky here in that way; it’s usually not going to be weather that will kill it.
