Day 302 – Sunrise Surprise

I was awakened early to a sky full of color. The high cirrus clouds were in a formation that reminds me of how ocean waves wash over a nice flat, sandy beach.

I did some other photos in the evening too, as Susan cut into a pomegranate. My official photo critic also picked the sunset. Just for kicks though, here’s the runner-up; let me know if you think we chose right for the pic of the day.

Definitely the sunset. The colors look painted on. Very nice!

Thanks Michael! That’s what I was thinking too.

The sunset is fantastic, but my vote goes to the fruit. It’s gorgeous, almost sensual. But it’s a good problem, having more than one photo to choose from. 😉

You’re so right, as that’s often not the case (having more than one good candidate) during this project. I was interested to see if and how many others would have preferred the fruit. I get biased based on how many times I have shot a similar subject (in this case, sunsets); which always leaves me feeling like I should try something different.

While I’m a sunset hound myself, I must vote for the pomegranate. It’s an amazing photo of the fruit, and has so much going on. Maybe it’s because I myself have never cut into a pom…I wouldn’t know where to begin, but it looks fascinating.

Wow – I really underestimated the power of a decent fruit photo. So interesting…
