Day 287 – Bryce Canyon

Just when you think you’ve seen the best views there are in Bryce, around the bend or over the hill gets even better. It actually makes it quite easy to hike a long way; you just keep wondering what you’ll see next.

Arches, hoodoos, trees, and color combinations you’d expect from a Disney animator are everywhere you look. This particular location is known for a mossy cave with water weeping from the rocks and the waterfall that cascades over a small-ish cliff just a few feet from where I took this picture.

I used a 6-stop neutral density filter on my lens so that I could slow the shutter speed down to a little more than a half-second in order to get the nice motion blur in the water. In other words, I put some really dark shades on my camera so it could take a nice long look. 🙂
