Day 286 – On the Way Up

The drive from Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon is a constantly changing canvas, taking you from an elevation of about 2000 feet to as much as 9100 feet at the highest point of the park. As we drove, the colors increased while the temperature fell.

Perhaps it’s because I don’t see a colorful fall very often, but the mix of red rock, pine trees, and bright Aspen trees was intoxicating (or maybe it was the lower oxygen at altitude). We stopped at several points along the way to enjoy the views and the fresh mountain air.
