Day 159 – Strobed Agapanthus

When I see foliage in this way, I think it actually looks better when strobed in low light or in the dark than in daylight. Or, maybe it’s just that this type of photo is still so new to me that it seems cool. Whatever… it has an unusual look, and lush colors which is what I dig about it. The contrast against the dark background also sets it apart from its normal daytime appearance.

Strobist info:
AB800 up high (7 – 8 ft.) pointed down @ 1/8 power
5D Mark II | 1/160 sec. | f/1.8 | ISO 50

The setup:

The other factor is that I kinda like mulling around outside in the cool air of the evening looking for something to shoot. We’re in the middle of suburbia so the neighborhood gets quiet pretty early.

Ok, so that’s two plants in a row… gotta start mixing it up again.
