Day 152 – Horsetail Reed (Shoppingmallicus Greenplantium)

In visiting the Carlsbad Forum again tonight for inspiration, I noticed the horsetail reed in a landscaped area with a stream, and how the lighting set some of the stems apart. I further accentuated this with the usual treatment in software to end up with something I’m quite intrigued with; partially because of how the stalk in focus look like it’s lit from within (like a glow stick), and partially because of how we (urban folk) cover great spans of land with asphalt and then decorate it with natural elements that might have been there to begin with.  Not that I’m saying this from any righteous point of view; I love my Starbucks!
