Day 107 – Just Another Day at the Grocery Store

Here’s something you don’t see every day; Dan Aykroyd spending the afternoon and a grocery store, signing autographs and bottles of Vodka. “Crystal Head” is his new line of vodka that just came out and this appearance was to help promote it. I heard about this a couple of days ago, and absolutely planned to be there for it. I’m a huge fan! Who wouldn’t want to go see the man behind Elwood Blues (The Blues Brothers), Ray Zalinsky (Tommy Boy), Roman Craig (The Great Outdoors), and Dr. Raymond Stantz (Ghost Busters)!?

I didn’t really know what to expect as far as crowds and certainly wasn’t prepared for the throngs of people who lined up to buy a $50 bottle of Vodka and have Dan sign it. Truth be told, I would have jumped right in line if it didn’t eat up the entire afternoon, so I settled for a good picture of him like this, surrounded by fans and his new vodka.

The fans were out in force. By the time we got there, which was about 10 minutes before it was all supposed to start, there were at least a hundred people in line. The people watching was probably just as good as seeing Dan in person. Some fans really went all out too.

Check out this guy, who showed up in a full Ghost Busters outfit. I would have to have seen Dan’s reaction to this guy, but the line was long, moving slow, and I’m just not that patient.

If I ever expected anyone to comment on this post, it was you – my Blues Brother brother! 🙂
