Day 6 – Bokeh Tennis

Today is the first Bokeh Wednesday of the year. Here’s my Day 6 HBW shot:

I will be celebrating this faux holiday for photographers every Wednesday, to the best of my ability.

For those of you not familiar with this term “bokeh”, it’s derived from the Japanese word “boke”, meaning “blur” or “haze”. Pictures featuring bokeh most often have a very shallow area of focus with most of  the remaining part of the picture out of focus to some degree. Some people don’t prefer this technique, but it’s one of the most popular groups on photo sharing sites like Flickr. Just do a search for “happy bokeh wednesday”  and you’ll get to see some great photography.

Happy hump day!
